The current Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee is $241.00 per hour.

General Psychologist

General Psychologists and Counsellors are trained in a wide variety of evidence-based techniques, treatments and therapeutic approaches that are tailored to meet the specific needs and circumstances of the client.

This includes concerns such as; stress, depression, anxiety,  grief and loss, significant life transitions, developmental issues, relationship difficulties, weightloss and body image, sexual abuse/assault, trauma, maintaining healthy lifestyles, vocational assessment and career development.

Clinical Psychologist

Clinical Psychologists also provide the same services as a General Psychologist and Counsellors. However, clinical psychologists have undertaken additional academic studies to specialise in an evidence-based treatments that can be applied across all mental health primary concerns.

Couples Counselling & Clinical Hypnotherapy

Couples counselling and Clinical hypnotherapy require extra training and are considered more specialised such that these services might attract a higher fee: please inquire about these rates.

Medicare & Private Health Insurance Rebates

Counselling in Melbourne psychologists are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and have Medicare provider numbers, enabling you to claim a Medicare rebate for your counselling session.

By obtaining a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician referral in the form of a Mental Health Care Plan, you could be eligible to receive a rebate for up 6 to 10 individual counselling sessions per calendar year.

Your referring doctor will assess your progress after the first six sessions.
