Nonie has been working with people for over 10 years, first as a secondary teacher and for the past 8 years as a Counselling Psychologist. Nonie’s speciality is assisting clients, from adolescents to adults, to clarify their issues and to explore new or different ways to think, behave and approach situations. The result of this work is often a new perspective, changed behaviour and more effective coping. Nonie takes a warm and curious approach to assist her clients to feel more at ease within themselves and more confident around others, thereby improving well-being, relationships & motivation to pursue goals. Nonie often takes a strength-based approach to assist clients to notice and harness their current strengths and skills in their journey to towards a more authentic and engaged life.
Nonie utilises a range of psychological approaches dependent on where her clients are at and what might be more helpful for them. These include; Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
