Healing emotional pain from an emotionally abusive, or narcissistic relationship dynamic is a challenging task. It requires a willingness to face difficult emotions and work through them with patience and compassion.
One of the first steps is to understand emotional blind spots, which are areas of our emotional landscape that we may not be aware of or have difficulty accessing. These can include feelings of shame, guilt, confusion, or fear, as well as deeper wounds from past traumas.
Learning to recognise and acknowledge these blind spots is an important part of healing.
It is also helpful to explore the messages behind our emotions. By learning to listen to our emotions, we can begin to understand ourselves better and make healthier choices.
Transmuting difficult emotions can be a powerful tool for healing. This involves processing and transforming negative emotions into positive ones by reframing our thoughts and perspectives. For example, instead of feeling victimised by an abusive partner, we can choose to see ourselves as survivors who are taking steps toward healing and growth.
Rebuilding self-esteem and confidence is also crucial in the healing process. This can involve setting boundaries, practicing self-care, and seeking support from others.
Above all, it is important to remember that healing is a journey and that it takes time and effort to recalibrate. But with patience, self-compassion, and a willingness to learn and grow, it is possible to rebuild a sense of self and move forward into a brighter future.

Deciding if group therapy is right for you depends on your individual needs, preferences, and comfort level. Here are some reasons why group therapy could be right for you:
Ultimately, the decision to participate in group therapy should be based on what feels right for you and aligns with your therapeutic goals.
If you benefit from connecting with others who share similar experiences, group therapy can provide a supportive environment where you can feel understood and validated.
If you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings in a group setting, group therapy can offer opportunities for personal growth and self-discovery through interactions with others.
Group therapy allows you to learn from the experiences and perspectives of others facing similar challenges, providing new insights and coping strategies.
Being part of a group can provide a sense of accountability, motivating you to actively participate in your therapeutic journey and work towards achieving the outcomes you’re seeking.
Group therapy can be a more affordable option compared to individual therapy, and it may also be more readily available in certain settings.
Holly specialises in supporting clients who have experienced emotionally painful relationships, particularly individuals recovering from relationships involving Narcissists, or Emotionally abusive behaviour.
Although Narcissistic and Emotional abuse are different, they share common traits and fall under psychological abuse, resulting in significant emotional and mental health challenges. Identifying psychological abuse can be intricate and may involve emotional, mental, social, financial, spiritual, and sexual exploitation.
The “Healing Emotional Pain” program emerged from a recognised necessity for increased support, awareness, and a secure community for individuals who have faced narcissistic, emotional, or psychologically harmful relationships.
The program has been designed to enhance self-awareness, empowerment, exploration, understanding of psychological harm, and the cultivation of healthy relationship management strategies with narcissists and others.
Drawing from a background in social work, counselling and holistic therapy training, Holly’s therapeutic methods focus on providing emotional support, facilitating release work, and aiding individuals in rediscovering their inner resilience.
Having had personal experience with narcissistic, emotional, and psychological abuse, Holly is dedicated to helping individuals regain control over their lives, rebuild trust, and rediscover the beauty of meaningful connections.
One challenge our community members feel is being overwhelmed by their emotions and not knowing how to effectively manage them. Community members often find themselves getting caught up in negative thought patterns and struggling to break free from them.
Past group members joined because they’ve struggled with letting go and moving on after ending a relationship with a narcissistic partner and they wanted to learn some new coping strategies and connect with others who understand what they were going through.
You can improve your self-esteem and learn to become more compassionate towards yourself. You will also develop better communication skills and learn how to set boundaries in your relationships.
Being part of this group will provide you with a sense of support and understanding you may not have found elsewhere. It will also allow you to learn from others who are going or have gone through similar experiences and as a community, the group members can share insights and strategies for coping.
You will learn more about mindfulness and relaxation techniques for managing stress and anxiety. You will also find it helpful to discuss your experiences and as a collective learn strategies for challenging negative thought patterns and building resilience in the face of adversity.
